A surcee is a term for a thoughtful and unexpected gift. The word surcee is thought to be a word with Scottish—Irish roots that has been passed down through generations in the south. A surcee does not need to be expensive—it is the thought behind the gift that is meaningful. A surcee can be a bottle of wine, a tea towel, coasters, a sweet card, or a considerate trinket.

Because surcee is one of those “out loud” words, there are a lot of different variations in the spelling. Other spellings include:  surcie, surcy, sursee, cercie, searcy, sirsee, circi, and sircee.

 

Fabric Specifications and Care

All of our fabrics are printed on a synthetic blend fabric which is selected for it's ability to render beautiful colors and detail through the printing process. In addition, these fabrics all have a soft and luxurious hand and superb cleanability. All of our products should be protected from direct sunlight. We recommend a covered porch.

For small spots on the Indoor fabrics, remove the cover and spot clean with oxyclean or a similar product. For the overall pillow, remove the insert and dry cleaning is recommended.  

For small spots on the outdoor fabrics, remove the cover and spot clean with oxyclean or a similar product. For the overall pillow, remove the insert, zip the zipper closed and wash on low with regular detergent and warm water. Dry on low setting or line dry.

Our Pillow Inserts

All of our inserts are proudly made in the USA. 

Indoor pillows are standardly filled with inserts containing a combination of 90% gray duck feathers and 10% goose down for a soft and luxurious feel that is certain to spoil those that enjoy its use.  This pillow boasts a 233-thread count shell made from 100% premium cotton fabric. 

Indoor pillows are also available in a synthetic down. These polyester micro-filled pillows are softer than pillows made from traditional poly-fill batting. They are made to please those who want all the softness of a real down pillow without the problem of allergies that are often associated with pillows made from feathers and down.
